Lia, age 19 administers Social Media for Building Bridges. She met Building Bridges Founder Raj Mehta via her Mom Julie. She is passionate about the importance of interacting through all age groups within community. Lia has a very special bond with her Nan & feels this should be cascaded through community
Lia attended Charlton School, Telford. She was then inspired to continue her education journey via Level 2 & Level 3 Early Years Childcare at Telford College of Arts & Technology. Lia was chosen as a model student not only excelling via studies but In addition represented college as a student ambassador on information evenings and taster sessions.
Lia is currently on a Foundation Degree in early years. She also works 3 days a week as a Nursery Practitioner at established Nursery – Hadley Under & Over 5’s.
Lia was an active member of Shropshire Health Champions, engaging with forums about local issues. Including speaking at Telford Clinical Commissioning Group AGM.
Lia has had much experience volunteering at local charitable organisations & events. Due to her involvement with her local Foodbank Lia spoke at a local Health Authority Annual Meeting
For fun, Lia is a keen dancer. Ex Cheerleader for Shrewsbury Town Football Club & competed to a high level. She now dances Street Dance . Dance has given Lia great confidence & given many great opportunities. She has been fortunate to dance in London theater, Silverstone, Blackpool Tower & many more
She has supported Building Bridges Administrator Julie Ward – her Mom, with many charity events . She like her Mom sees the importance of supporting local, including all age groups in local events & sees the passion in the eyes of the elderly when they engage with young people taking part in the project
